Safety and getting around
Safety
Argentina is considered a stable, safe country for visitors. In general, streets are safe. You can walk them at night but do be careful since petty crime, like purse snatching and pick pocketing are on the rise, particularly in the downtown areas of the major cities.
More Tips
Don't carry documents, especially passports, on you. Don't carry money, documents or credit cards together. Avoid areas where there are political demonstrations. Don't flaunt large amounts of money or valuable possessions such as cameras or other electronic items. Dress discreetly. Report loss of documents immediately to the nearest police station or your country's consulate.

Getting around
Apart from renting a car, you can stop one of the many taxis, or, if you want to be especially safe, you should call a taxi (so called “remis”-taxis). Since passengers have been mugged on occasion, you had better use the “remis”-system, particularly in Buenos Aires. The city of Buenos Aires has five excellent subway lines that provide good and reliable service.
By air, you can get domestic flights to almost all major destinations; there are also good airport shuttle services. Long distance coaches are comfortable, safe and efficient.
