Mr. Cannon ([pittcannon@msn.com]) is the Principal of International Marketing Consultants, Inc., and has been a management consultant since founding his firm in 1980. Emphasis is market surveys, market development and assessing financial project viability in the railroad, mining and steel industries. He has completed projects for more than 750 American companies and over 300 non-American companies. Recent clients include Rockwell International, Westinghouse and Bethlehem Steel for whom specific railroad market entry strategies were devised, financial integrity assessed, and purchasing packages implemented with key South American railways in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
Mr. Cannon attended the University of Minnesota from 1964 to 1967. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and has a working knowledge of French and Italian. Mr. Cannon has presented technical papers in four languages, at more than 100 symposiums. He has lectured at more than 15 Universities, in South America and Europe. He set up the original curriculum on the course in International Marketing, for the Master of Arts in International Business program at Point Park College, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He taught the course for two years.
Mr. Cannon currently writes a column on business travel for the Business Journal Company. His column appears in 47 newspapers.
