Poland: First Name or Title?
From ExecutivePlanet.com
Addressing others with respect
The order of Polish names is the same as in other countries in Europe and in the United States, with first name followed by a surname.
There is no general rule as to how Polish people address each other. In initial contacts they may use the person's title [D., P] or the basic courtesy titles like Pan [Mr], Pani [Mrs] and Panno [Miss] followed by a surname or first name. Just follow your hosts' example.
Usually, after two or three meetings, the use of first names is welcomed. Do not worry if this is not the case. Some people are just accustomed to using titles and do this routinely.
Professional titles are not used when addressing Polish executives.
