Let’s Make a Deal!
At the negotiation table, much of the political and intelligence techniques will be played out to test the waters and the depth of a business deal. Given the ambiguity of human nature, language can be very deceptive and varies from culture to culture. Uncertainty makes for difficulties at a negotiation meeting. However, when it is time to make a deal, the final writing on an agreement will be accurate and precise. It may take many trips to finalize the deal, depending on the nature and the size of the business. This is where you see the CEO’s complex of skills and decision making at play.
