Public Behaviour
Most of the population of Taiwan is not much different from China, except for the political culture. The mandarin Chinese language they share is the same, with a different writing of a simplified Chinese in the Mainland, but the original, traditional Chinese characters are still being used in Taiwan. The Mainland Chinese have been isolated from the West with the iron curtain since Mao’s victory in 1949. The progress of development in China is much behind that of Taiwan. And, for this reason, westerners find Taiwan is more comfortable for them, not only in its standard of living but also because of the atmosphere of freedom that the free world enjoys. In Taiwan, people can criticize the government leader with freedom of speech, freedom of religion and other personal freedoms etc. The hotel you will stay in will have more than 100 TV channels of programs to choose from. Material prosperity and personal privacy are not a problem in Taiwan.
